Welcome!
I seek to create a safe, non-dogmatic educational environment, where the aspirant is immersed in the process of self-discovery and inner exploration to become a more integrated human.
My Teaching Style
In a safe refuge, students can turn their inner attentiveness to feelings, sensations, and activity of the mind. They can discover their own personal dance of life and thereby experience more freedom and vitality, and connect the practice to their daily life. The practice leads to increased awareness, mental clarity, and emotional wellness, as well as generating strength and suppleness for a healthier, more vibrant and limber body.Certifications
My background
A native of French Montreal, I have taught Yoga full-time in the Morgantown region since 1990.
I view my practice in a perpetual state of evolution and my training has allowed me to explore many styles of Yoga to form an integrated view of Yoga practices. My practice fuses elements of the heart-centered and concentration practices from Kripalu, the physical alignments of Iyengar Yoga, and the dance-like fluidity of Vinyasa Flow Yoga.
I am grateful to have studied with such illustrious teachers as Stephen Cope, Dr. Jeff Migdow (creator an director of Kripalu Teacher Training) Todd Norian and a host of Kripalu Teachers, Georg Feuerstein, Eleanor Criswell, Gary Kraftsow, Joseph Lepage, Richard Miller, Carolyne Myss, Anodea Judith, Kali Ray, Donna Farhi and Shiva Rea, just to count a few.
Since 1991 I have taught a variety of classes including Beginners and Intermediate Level, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, Drama Yoga (Adjunct professor at WVU Dept. of Dance and Theatre) Yoga for Law Students, Yoga for Medical Students, Partner Yoga/Yogassage, Chakra Yoga, Core Strength Yoga, Art of Conscious Breathing, Meditation, Ayurveda (for massage students), and Vinyasa Flow Yoga
I am also a trained childbirth instructor, and have been a birth doula and birth consultant since 1985.
I am the mother of two awesome sons, Trevor S. and Jeremie Z., owners of Biotexture: Natural Plasters, and students at CSU.
